Smiling on the outside

Out, out – get out of here, I say

I don’t want you around here anymore, no way

Don’t worry.

I’m smiling on the outside

you can’t see what’s going on inside

who would care, anyway

The black hole.

You feel too much

and usually that’s okay

but not today, no more, no way

I want to turn it all off

Banish it, aside.

Oh to be free

What a wild concept that would be

But seeing how this is me

It appears this is how my world is meant to be

Out, out – get out of here, I say

I will endure

I will outlast

Until these nasty chemicals dissipate

I’ve been here before

I know it’s a continuously revolving door

You go in

You go out

You go ’round and ’round.

Don’t worry, I’m smiling on the inside now.
